This Weekend: Jessica Lea Mayfield, Psychadelic Furs, Yelle & Sleigh Bells

This Friday, Jessica Lea Mayfield performs at Fitzgerald’s. Sometimes one comes across bands whose music is great, but lyrics fail to be on par. Talented beyond her years, Mayfield’s folk-punk-country influenced music is wonderfully complimented by heart-felt lyrics. Also performing is her brother, David Mayfield. As always, for Fitz shows, click “I like it” for your chance to win a pair of tickets. Friday, 8 p.m.

Some shows are more somber than others and that’s OK. But if you don’t shake a tail feather at these upcoming shows, something could be seriously wrong with you. Just sayin’. Click “I like it” on each page for your chance to win a pair of tickets.

Saturday, The Psychedelic Furs will perform their 80’s hits at Warehouse Live. Will you be pretty in pink at the show? Saturday, 8 p.m.

Also performing on Saturday is French pop band, Yelle. Playful, energetic and full of life, Yelle will be in Houston for the first leg of the tour, promoting their sophomore album, Safari Disco Club. Also performing are French Horn Rebellion & Glasnost. Saturday, at Fitzgerald’s, 8 p.m.

On Sunday, Sleigh Bells perform with CSS and Bosco Delray – a line-up not to be missed. Rumor has it Sleigh Bells put on a great live show & have definitely been gaining popularity since last year’s debut album. Sleigh Bells unstoppable sound is sometimes heavy but always hip-poppy. Neither CSS nor Bosco Delray experience any shortages of energy either. Sunday at Warehouse Live, 8 p.m.

Which show will you be going to and why?
